Loki Season 2 Theory Suggests Victor Timely is [SPOILER]

The second season of Loki probably didn't introduce a new Kang Variant after all!

There is little doubt that Victor Timely quickly became the most enigmatic character in Loki Season 2 after appearing in just one episode. So it's no surprise that there are several theories about the Kang Variant's role in the show itself and in the bigger Marvel Cinematic Universe. But perhaps the most intriguing speculation is the true identity of the 19th-century inventor being someone we have already met in the MCU!

In Loki Season 2, a sense of unease pervades the storyline as the God of Mischief is transported to a past version of the TVA, suggesting a more intricate plot. Memories are being erased, and the TVA seems altered, raising suspicions among fans.

One Reddit theory suggests that Victor Timely may not be a typical Kang Variant but, in fact, He Who Remains. The theory posits that He Who Remains anticipated his own defeat and devised an elaborate contingency plan. He would create a paradox or time loop, ensuring that someone would travel back in time to aid Victor Timely in establishing the TVA, fabricating the Time Keepers myth, and perpetuating his control over all timelines at the End of Time.

It is also noted that Miss Minutes seemingly knew what to do as soon as He Who Remains was killed by Sylvie. The animated clock immediately ordered Ravonna Renslayer to give a TVA handbook to the young Victor Timely which led to the boy becoming an inventor who uses cons to fund his inventions.

This theory adds an intriguing layer to the narrative, hinting at complex machinations and hidden motives within the series, challenging the characters and the audience to question the true nature of the TVA and its enigmatic figures.

What We Know About He Who Remains

When we meet He Who Remains, he has already founded and ruled the Time Variance Authority to preserve the Sacred Timeline and prevent the return of the other Kang Variants. Residing at the Citadel at the End of Time for eons, He Who Remains eventually met Loki and Sylvie, the latter of whom killed him, resulting in the return of his Variants.
