There is little doubt that Loki Season 2 has been littered with numerous references but a visit to the Time Variance Authority headquarters just might confirm a connection to the X-Men. So is the TVA secretly connected to the mutants? Director Kasra Farahani finally addressed the X-Men Easter eggs hidden in plain sight.

Fans have been speculating about the X-Men connection since the premiere of Loki Season 2. It is believed that a set of doors in the TVA bears a striking resemblance to the entrance of Cerebro, the device used by Charles Xavier to enhance his telepathy and connect with all minds worldwide. With that in mind, people believe that the massive device is hidden somewhere in the TVA.

So is it true that the TVA has been hiding Cerebro and the existence of mutants all this time? Kasra Farahani, who directed the latest episode of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series, addressed the seemingly obvious Easter egg during an appearance in the Phase Zero podcast.

"No, I don't even know the doors people are talking about," Farahani said. "We were looking at subterranean missile bunkers. missile silos, from the Cold War era. There's some insanely heavy fortified doors in those bunkers and that's where the doors come from."

That certainly makes sense and it would be a more plausible explanation for TVA's location. Still, that hasn't stopped people from believing Loki will eventually introduce Cerebro and the X-Men into the MCU.

What is Cerebro and What Role Could it Play in the MCU?

Cerebro made its debut in X-Men #7 in 1964 and first appeared onscreen in the 2000 film X-Men where it was tampered with by Mystique in an attempt to assassinate Charles Xavier. It was later featured in X2: X-Men United where the villain William Stryker sought to use it for sinister purposes. It appeared in several other X-Men sequels, including Logan, Dark Phoenix, and Deadpool 2, where Wade Wilson employed it.

Given that a new X-Men film is reportedly in development and is set to become the first official X-Men installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's not out of the realm of possibility for Loki to tease Cerebro's introduction, particularly with its uncanny resemblance to the TVA doors. This connection fuels fans' excitement about the potential integration of the X-Men into the MCU.
