Kafka Hibino finally joined the Defense Force as a cadet at the recommendation of the third unit’s vice commander, Soshino Hoshina. Hoshina starts to doubt Kafka’s real identity, believing there’s something mysterious about him. However, he seems confident in what Kafka can do, and the preview for Kaiju No. 8 Episode 6, titled Sagamihara Subjugation Operation at Dawn, shows his first mission.

The trailer for Kaiju No. 8 Episode 6 shows a huge creature terrorizing Japan. The new Defense Force members, led by Kikoru Shinomiya, make their way to Sagamihara to face the gigantic monster. Hoshina then appears, and despite the threat, he still looks happy, telling the new appointees to try to surpass their seniors.
As the spider-like monster attacks, Kafka is later seen before a dead beast, hinting at the possibility that he kills it. Kikoru and Reno look surprised, while Mina Ashiro takes the scene with her weapon and is ready to fire. “This is who I am now,” she says.
As for Kaiju No. 8 Episode 6 stills, Hoshina looks optimistic as he seems to lead the new Defense Force members in their first mission. As always, Kikoru looks confident, although she appears tired while listening to Hoshina. Kafka gives the impression of being nervous, with his face sweating, but still determined to fulfill his first assignment.
Reno also appears in front of the monster, which he seems to defeat. Several spider-like monsters with mushroom-like shells scattered on the street, ready to terrorize the city. For the last still, the group joins forces as they prepare to face the monsters.

What to Expect from Kaiju No. 8 Episode 6
For their first mission, the new Defense Force members must face the monsters appearing in Sagamihara in Kaiju No. 8 Episode 6. Despite being warned that he only has three months to prove himself or will be fired, Kafka expresses his excitement about doing his first mission. This inspires Reno and makes him even more enthusiastic about killing the monsters.

A monster has appeared in Sagamihara! As their first mission, the new members are tasked with subjugating the remaining beasts at the rear of the unit. Kafka was told that she would be fired if she didn't perform well within three months, but although she was nervous, she couldn't hide her excitement for the job that had been her dream. Leno is inspired by Kafka and becomes enthusiastic. And the operation has finally begun!
The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Naoya Matsumoto. Since its publication in July 2020, it has collected 12 tankobon volumes and circulated over 13 million copies. Viz Media has licensed the manga in English. Production I.G. adapted it into anime, premiering in April 2024 and releasing five episodes so far.
