There are only two episodes left in the first cour of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and it looks like the anime is already hyping up the next story arc. A new key visual for the Shibuya Incident arc has just been dropped and it brings back the present students of Tokyo Jujutsu High School.
It has already been confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be split into two cours. The first half of the second season will consist of five episodes and adapt the manga's Gojo's Past arc which has been retitled Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc. The second cour will cover the Shibuya Incident arc and will be significantly longer with 18 episodes.
It will still be a few weeks before the Shibuya Incident arc begins but Jujutsu Kaisen is making sure fans are hyped up for it. The announcement for the renewal of the pop-up stores Jujutsu Kaisen Area Expansion Square included two new key visuals. The first one puts the focus on Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto as students while the second one features the return of Gojo's students in the Shibuya Incident arc.
Tokyo gets the first pop-up stores from July 29 to August 13, 2023, while the Shiga venue will be opened from August 19 to 27, 2023. Finally, the Osaka venue is scheduled from September 1 to 18, 2023. There will be more cities announced soon so stay tuned for more updates on this story.
What Happens in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2's Shibuya Incident Arc?

While the first cour takes place in the past in an important part of Tokyo Jujutsu High School's history, the Shibuya Incident arc happens in the present right after Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki took on two of the Death Painting Wombs. It also continues with "Geto" and Mahito's plans to finally get rid of Gojo in an event that will forge an alliance between cursed spirits and curse users.
The Shibuya Incident arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere on August 31, 2023. In the meantime, the fourth episode of the second season will premiere on July 27, 2023.
