Things are certainly heating up in Jujutsu Kaisen as the fight between Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna continues. However, the Chapter 228 leak also has fans concerned about Gojo as an extra page from an old chapter of the manga is revisited.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 228, Gojo and Sukuna continued to challenge each other with new Curse Techniques and the use of Domain Expansion. However, the chapter concluded with seemingly minor injuries that have fans concerned.
By the end of the chapter, Sukuna gets a harmless paper cut that readers believe is much more serious than expected. Moreover, Gojo gets a nosebleed and reveals he is feeling dizzy.
These might all seem minor compared to what the sorcerer has gone through in previous chapters but his admission that he is affected by something could confirm that Gojo has exhausted his Curse Technique or that his injuries are more serious internally.
But what could it all mean? For now, anything could happen but fans are looking to the past for answers. For instance, people have dug into the Shibuya Incident chapters of the manga and remembered a chilling extra page illustrated by Gege Akutami. On the page, it appears that a headless Gojo is standing in front of Megumi Fushiguro who is seated in a swing.
Sukuna has possessed Megumi Fushiguro for several chapters now, defeating his enemies easily by using the sorcerer's Curse Technique. Interestingly, Fushiguro has been unable to take control of his own body for a long time and there are concerns that he will die because of this. On the other hand, fans are hoping Fushiguro can fight back so Gojo can ultimately defeat Sukuna.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 227 was released on July 2, 2023.
