Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the biggest shonen franchises today, and its success is evident in its anime and manga. Hence, with the recent success of the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece and with the upcoming live-action movie adaptations of Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto and Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia, many can’t help but ask if Gege Akutami’s series will follow the trend. As it remains to be seen if this will happen, Shonen Jump has dropped a live-action trailer featuring Fumihiko Takaba and Suguru Geto to hype up the release of the manga’s Volume 27.
You can watch the Jujutsu Kaisen live-action trailer below:
The 24-second Jujutsu Kaisen live-action trailer starts with the students making their way to Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School. There, Fumihiko instructs the students, parodying the classic commercial FantaGakuen. As one of the students raises his hand and talks to Fumihiko, Geto suddenly opens the room’s door and confronts Fumihiko. Later, the said student is seen with his classmate, holding the manga’s recently released 27th volume.
Titled Foolish Survivor, the manga’s Volume 27 features Fumihiko on the cover, which gives a nod to Yoshio Sawai’s Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo due to the similarities of the two characters’ poses. Released on July 4, the volume covers Chapters 237 to 245.
This isn’t the first time that the franchise has released a live-action trailer to commemorate its manga’s new volume release. Back in July 2023, it also dropped a special live-action video to celebrate the release of its 23rd volume and its 80 million manga copies in circulation.

Who is Fumihiko Taba in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Though Fumihiko is yet to be seen in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, he may soon be introduced to the small screen as part of the Culling Game, the arc the upcoming third season will adapt. Known for being a failed comedian, his journey takes a drastic turn after he gets involved in Kenjaku’s cursed techniques. This helps him gain formidable abilities and enables him to join the deadly games.
In the manga, he debuted in a flashy entrance during Megumi Fushiguro’s encounter with Reggie Star and Iori Hazenoki. But don’t belittle this funny character. Despite his goofy appearance and ability to deliver non-stop jokes, he’s a tough opponent who can catch even the greatest sorcerers off guard with his great combat powers and control over cursed energy. Hence, it’s no surprise that his cursed technique is called “Comedian.”
So far, it is unknown whether Jujutsu Kaisen will be adapted into live-action. Until it finally happens, the series’ live-action trailers are enough to keep fans excited.
