There is little doubt that readers have been waiting for every new chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen since Satoru Gojo stepped up to face Ryomen Sukuna at the start of the Shinjuku Showdown arc. Not surprisingly, the fight has undergone a lot of interesting developments but Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 230 has just confirmed that Sukuna has been playing dirty all this time and it has a sickening consequence.

In the previous chapter, Sukuna began to struggle in the fight against Gojo. However, he pulled out a last-minute trump card: Sukuna unleashed the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga, who just happens to be the most powerful shinigami that may be summoned by a member of the Zenin Clan.
Mei Mei explains that Mahoraga is a major threat to Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 230 and it is soon proven as the shinigami destroys Gojo's Ultimate Void. However, that's not the worst thing that Sukuna does here as he uses Megumi Fushiguro's soul as a shield against the "sure hit" of Gojo's Domain. This means Fushiguro had to take all the damages from the devastating blow.
It's a sickening move considering that Fushiguro's soul had already been broken after Sukuna killed his older sister Tsumiki after she became Yorozu's host. It has become clear that Sukuna will use Fushiguro in any way just to win the fight against Gojo.
We're not happy about Sukuna playing dirty but the chapter did give us an update on Fushiguro. Despite the cruel things that Sukuna has done to him, it appears that Fushiguro is still (barely) alive in there and we're hoping he finds the strength to reclaim his own body.
Although Fushiguro is going through a lot inside that body, it's also evident that Gojo is not giving up on his students. After Sukuna gets Gojo on his knees, he tries to bring back Malevolent Shrine but it is destroyed immediately, subjecting Sukuna to the Ultimate Void which damages his brain. Gojo then says he will try to look cool in front of his students before punching Sukuna.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 230 will be officially released on August 7, 2023.
