The fight continues in Jujutsu Kaisen and the latest chapter of the manga just made it clear that Satoru Gojo is getting the upper hand. However, Chapter 229 also revealed that Ryomen Sukuna still has a secret weapon up his sleeve and his latest move has fans freaking out.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 229, the fight between Gojo and Sukuna took a turn as the former repeatedly attacked the latter in his Unlimited Void domain. This resulted in both of their domains collapsing. Through it all, Sukuna got several injuries while Gojo seemed unfazed.
The injuries left Sukuna to open his domain a little later than Gojo which allows the sorcerer to attack Sukuna with his unlimited cursed energy. However, Sukuna suddenly unleashed Mahoraga to defend himself.
We already know that Mahoraga is one of the main reasons why Sukuna decided to possess Megumi Fushiguro. After all, the Shikigami is the most powerful one and Sukuna knew it could take on Gojo easily.
Sukuna certainly knew what he was doing when he chose to possess Megumi Fushiguro. However, fans are unhappy with his sudden move to summon Mahoraga just when Gojo is close to defeating him.
It's a sneaky move and Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 229 ended with Gojo realizing that Mahoraga isn't an easy opponent to defeat. On the other hand, Gojo might be able to come up with something to finally get rid of Sukuna.
We already know that Sukuna has possessed Megumi Fushiguro in the recent chapters of Gege Akutami's manga, defeating his enemies easily by using the sorcerer's Curse Technique. Unfortunately, Fushiguro has been unable to take control of his own body for a long time and there are concerns that he will die because of this. On the other hand, fans are hoping Fushiguro can fight back so Gojo can ultimately defeat Sukuna.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 228 was released on July 9, 2023.
