Jonathan Majors simply can't be stopped. The Marvel Cinematic Universe star is set to return as a new Kang Variant in Loki Season 2 this October. In addition to that, his latest non-MCU film is expected to premiere in December amidst the controversy over assault allegations.
Earlier in March, the actor was arrested on assault, strangulation and harassment charges. It all started in a domestic dispute with an unnamed woman who has since rescinded her statement. However, there were soon multiple allegations and the Lovecraft Country actor being dropped by his agency, and it all led to people wondering if Major's MCU future was doomed.
Despite the controversy, Majors appears to be moving forward with his career. In Disney's recent earnings report for the third quarter of 2023, it is confirmed that his new film Magazine Dreams is still set for theatrical release in December. The movie would be Majors' third film of the year after Creed III and the MCU sequel Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
It is an interesting move for Disney, considering that the studio is usually wary of what projects to put out when there is a possible controversy. However, it looks like the House of Mouse is supporting Majors since the initial assault allegations were dropped. This could also mean that Kang the Conqueror will continue to be a huge part of the next phase of the MCU.
Jonathan Majors is set to play a new Kang Variant named Victor Timely in Loki Season 2. This will be the third Variant that Majors is playing following his debut as He Who Remains in the first season of Loki (he portrayed Kang in Quantumania). The second season of the Marvel series will premiere on Disney+ on October 6, 2023.
Magazine Dreams follows a bodybuilder (Majors) who is determined to become a superstar despite his doctors' warnings about his health. The film also stars Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O'Hearn, Harrison Page, and Harriet Sansom Harris. It will hit theaters on December 8, 2023.
