The announcement of the film comes the confirmation of the most controversial decision of Grogu in his Star Wars narrative: leaving the Jedi and being a Mandalorian.

Earlier this week, StarWars.com officially confirms the next step in the Mandoverse as Jon Favreau will helm an upcoming Star Wars movie from one that is close to his heart, the one he created will finally jump from the small screens to the cinemas with The Mandalorian & Grogu as his next project. In the same announcement, Favreau revealed, "The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting."
From this, it is confirmed that the decision made by Grogu in The Mandalorian Season 3 changes everything from hereon. This change also marks a new chapter in Grogu's life which could potentially be something new in the whole Star Wars narrative?
What happens to Grogu in The Mandalorian & Grogu?
From the words of Jon Favreau in the announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu, he was certain that Grogu is now the apprentice of Din Djarin. This means that should Grogu have any dreams of being a Jedi, that would not happen anymore since he would not be training in The Force, but instead, he would now be training as a Mandalorian under the wings of Din Djarin. Grogu will now have to learn using a blaster instead of a lightsaber but his previous knowledge of the Force can still be his edge compared to the others.
The Mandalorian & Grogu will likely focus on the new life of Din Djarin and the now Din Grogu as they explore a new chapter in their life as father and son. The Mandalorian Season 3 witnessed this change when Din Djarin formally adopts Grogu and they left to start their life anew. Despite losing the possibility of becoming a Jedi, Grogu is now on his way to being a Mandalorian which could prove to be useful in the next journey they would take.
