Krysten Ritter had fans talking when she shared a couple of photos of herself on her Instagram Story wearing a “Save Our Souls” shirt from Netflix’s Jessica Jones. As Netflix’s Marvel series are now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon and Daredevil has made his way to the Multiverse, many believe that the Breaking Bad star’s post is a tease of her return to reprise her role in the MCU. So, to finally address these claims, Ritter breaks her silence and shares the truth about her post.
In an interview with Collider to promote her new show, Orphan Black: Echoes, Ritter was asked if her post meant anything, given that it was shared at a timely moment, as filming for Daredevil: Born Again had just resumed. She, too, answered if she was aware of the clamor her photos created after sharing them on social media.
“No, I didn’t,” she said. “I have the shirt. It’s a great t-shirt. It's one of my favorites and I was wearing it. I was like, 'Oh, cute! Is anyone gonna recognize my shirt?' But yeah, I did notice that it made some waves. That was fun.”
The actress stressed that it was a mere coincidence and was never meant as a tease of her return as Jessica Jones in the MCU. However, she couldn’t deny that the fans’ reactions made her happy, and they meant a lot to her, as much as her Marvel character.
“It’s funny that one little thoughtless Instagram story of my cute t-shirt that I love [got that reaction],” she continued.

Will Krysten Ritter return as Jessica Jones in the MCU?
Though it remains to be seen if Ritter will return as Jessica Jones in the MCU, one possible way she could do so is in Charlie Cox’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. The show will see the return of Daredevil’s old colleagues, like John Bernthal’s The Punisher. There are also speculations that other members of Netflix’s The Defenders saga will return, including Ritter.
The rumors even heightened when she reunited with Cox and the latter’s Daredevil co-star, Vincent D’Onofrio, at Galaxy Con in 2023. However, though the 42-year-old star revealed that she would love to reprise the role, she had yet to receive any call asking for her return. But if that day comes, she will have her boots and jacket ready.
“I think that people love Jessica; I know because I live it,” she told the Inside of You podcast (via CBR) last year. “Marvel is so secretive – I am just putting that out there that, of course, I would be there in a second. I would have my boots and jacket ready to rock.”
Marvel may have yet to announce Ritter’s return as Jessica Jones, but fans look forward to seeing her as part of the MCU. Who knows, she may make a surprising appearance in Daredevil: Born Again due to her close connection to Matt Murdock.
Jessica Jones is available to stream on Disney+, while Daredevil: Born Again is set to release in 2025.
