Jang Na-ra, Kim Hye-yoon, P.O and Park Hae-jin Bring the Divorce Battle Back at Good Partner 2 Script Reading

A new partner, a fresh firm and a former classmate chasing the same crown are waiting when Good Partner 2 opens its doors again.

The divorce courtroom is reopening with a new partnership at its center, as Jang Na-ra returns to lead Good Partner 2 alongside Kim Hye-yoon in the first footage and photos from the season's script reading. The production team unveiled the video and photos on October 19, giving the first look at the returning and newly joined cast members reading together ahead of the premiere.

The first season of Good Partner, written by an actual divorce attorney, depicted the struggles of two very different divorce lawyers: Cha Eun-kyung, a star lawyer for whom divorce is her calling, and Han Yu-ri, played by Nam Ji-hyun, a rookie lawyer who was still new to divorce cases. Two years later, Season 2 depicts lead attorney Cha Eun-kyung and experienced lawyer Kang Hye-sung becoming each other's good partner, and the season is once again written by divorce specialist lawyer Choi Yu-na and helmed by director Seo Min-jung.

Jang Na-ra steps back into the role that anchored the first season, but Cha Eun-kyung's world has been rebuilt around her. Twenty years into a career spent reading the people behind the case files as carefully as the cases themselves, she has walked away from Law Firm Daejeong to run her own practice, Law Firm Spring Again — a name chosen for the clients she wants to help find their own fresh start, and the base from which she plans an even fiercer second act.

Across the table sits the season's biggest change. Kim Hye-yoon plays Kang Hye-sung, who arrives with five years of practice and a regional reputation built the hard way — back-to-back wins across civil and criminal courtrooms, earned on sharp instincts and a refusal to let any case go. Where the first season paired Eun-kyung with a rookie learning the ropes, this one gives her a partner who already knows how to win, and has no intention of playing second chair.

P.O is back as Jeon Eun-ho, the junior lawyer whose steady support kept the old team running. This time his role stretches in both directions — backing Cha Eun-kyung as he always has, while also serving as the experienced hand guiding Kang Hye-sung as she settles into the firm, making him the link between the partnership that was and the one now taking shape.

The new face brings the season its sharpest edge. Park Hae-jin joins as Park Tae-soo, who knew Cha Eun-kyung back in college and now runs Taesoo Law Firm, putting the two former classmates on a collision course for the top of the divorce law world — a head-to-head rivalry between opposing firms that the first season never had.

The production team heightened expectations by stating, "Season 2 will feature even more intense divorce cases. The process of attorneys with different strategies and values solving cases in their own ways will unfold in an intriguing manner," adding, "Please look forward to the new fun that will be created by the more diverse relationships between the characters, including new partners and rivals."
