One Piece is truly a legend in the world of manga, spanning thousands of chapters and covering several story arcs throughout its ongoing run. But which story arc is the best one in Monkey D. Luffy's own opinion? Iñaki Godoy has just revealed his favorite story arc from Eiichiro Oda's manga and it's an interesting choice.
We already know that the One Piece live-action series will adapt the Romance Dawn arc from the manga. It's certainly the best place to start considering that this is the manga and anime's first story arc that reveals how the Straw Hats Pirates were formed. However, it looks like the cast of the Netflix show have read up on the more recent chapters of Oda's manga.
Iñaki Godoy was recently interviewed by GamesRadar where he was asked about his favorite One Piece story arc. Interestingly, Godoy admitted that it would be that time when Luffy declared war on the World Government.
"Oh, man. So far, I really love Enies Lobby. I think that was my favorite arc," he said. However, Godoy also confessed that he is now a fan of the sneaky Long Ring Long Land arc antagonist Foxy who got his own story arc Foxy's Return.
"I think the Foxy arc, I think it has something special too," he said. "I really liked the afro Luffy. I think that was really nice, but Enies Lobby is the best one for me. I really love that one, but hey, I love Foxy. I don't know, I think it's just a funny villain. I don't know… his weird nose and like his power? Man, I think he's a funny guy. I think it's a funny arc."
What Happens in One Piece's Enies Lobby Arc?
The Enies Lobby story arc is also known as the Judicial Island arc and is the manga's story arc. It follows the Straw Hats Pirates as they join forces with Sogeking and the Franky Family in an effort to rescue Nico Robin and Franky. However, they will first need to defeat the World Government and the assassin organization CP9.
It's an exciting story arc featuring several milestones for the Straw Hats Pirates. However, it will still be a long way before we see this story arc in live-action. In the meantime, the first season of the One Piece live-action series will premiere on Netflix on August 31, 2023.
