With Grand Theft Auto fans still waiting for Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive's official announcement of GTA 6, various leaks and rumors have been spreading online, and one of the recent leaks claim that the highly-anticipated game will take place in multiple states, not just Vice City (the fictional version of Miami). Based on previous leaks, fans are already expecting that GTA 6 will have a much larger map than GTA V, but this is the first leak that claims that Georgia and other parts of Florida will be featured in the latest installment.
As X (formerly Twitter) user @GTAVI_Countdown pointed out, here are the locations found in the leaked GTA 6 footage:
Augusta State Medical Prison (Georgia)
Ekanfinaka (Okefenokee, Georgia)
Grassrivers (Everglades, Florida)
Lake Leonida (Florida)
Port Gellhorn (Panama City, Florida)
Rockridge (Little Havana, Miami)
If true, players will be able to travel across different states in GTA 6. At this point, it's still unclear if GTA 6 will actually feature these locations since the game is not officially announced yet, and even if the leaked footage is legit, development of the map and other elements of the game are subject to change.
A fan, who goes by Jasonfromgta6, pointed out that people had used coordinations seen on the leaks “to map out the locations.”
“This map is gonna be huge, bro. A dream come true,” he tweeted.
Some fans also claimed that the leaked documents showed a Georgia prison, which brings weight to the rumors.
“Rockstar have brought down and featured locations from Georgia, including a Prison and mountain ranges not present in real world Florida,” the document noted.
X user jasonfromgta6 also shared images of the prison in question which many believe to be based on the Augusta State Medical Prison in Georgia. He also shared a clip in a town that he claims to be based off of Homestead, Florida, a small city located in the south of Miami.
Grand Theft Auto 6 doesn't have an official release date yet, but expect Rockstar to announce it soon.
