The popular GTA 6 trailer is officially out and has given fans a look at the two protagonists: the male named Jason and the other female named Lucia. However, a couple of Cyberpunk 2077 fans have pointed out that the former looks quite familiar to them.
Just like almost every gamer right now, Cyberpunk 2077 players were also busy discussing the GTA 6 trailer online (which was originally supposed to come out on December 5 but was revealed on December 4 due to a leak). Through that, plenty of players began highlighting the fact that Jason looks quite similar to the male V.
Shared on Reddit, an X (formerly Twitter) user called Argeras said, "I can't wait for the scene in GTA 6 when Jason will leave Lucia, change his name to Vincent, and go to Night City.” Moreover, they also added a picture of Jason from the GTA 6 trailer right next to the original Cyberpunk 2077 cover art featuring V.
In another similar post, user makavelinow wrote, "Jason from the GTA 6 trailer kinda looks like V from the Cyberpunk CGI trailer." JustaNormalpersonig posted some pictures of both the GTA 6 protagonists next to Cyberpunk 2077’s male V with one of his romantic interests, Panam Palmer. The caption said, "They wanna be them so bad."
What role might Lucia play in GTA 6?
Jason isn’t the only GTA 6 character who has all the attention right now since fans seem to be getting quite curious about Lucia. She’s the first female protagonist to be featured in a GTA game. There are not a lot of details that were officially shared regarding her, but we do know that she is imprisoned.
In the GTA 6 trailer, Lucia says it’s because of “bad luck, I guess,” when talking to what might be her parole officer. If you look closely at the game’s key art, she can be seen wearing an ankle tag, which indicates that she’s perhaps on parole. This means that it’ll keep her confined to a limited location in the upcoming game.
During her story, she comes across and becomes romantically involved with the male protagonist, who, as per leaks, is named Jason. However, the trailer didn’t confirm this information. Their relationship seems to be similar to that of the popular Bonnie-Clyde duo, as they continue working together in a life of crime.
Regardless of the situation she finds herself in, Lucia has only one solution in mind. In the trailer, she says, "The only way we’re gonna get through this is by sticking together. Being a team. Trust?" to the male protagonist, who in return says, “Trust.” However, it remains to be seen if this trust will be kept or shattered.
