The CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, has once again teased a possible release window for the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Since GTA 5 was one of the most profitable games for the company overall, there are a lot of expectations from the upcoming Rockstar Games title as well. For over ten years now, fans have been eagerly waiting for GTA 6’s release, and nothing about the game has been officially revealed so far.
For a long time now, leakers have been claiming that GTA 6 will be released sometime in 2024, 2025, or 2026, but neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive have confirmed the leaks. However, the Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, teased that the game might be released in the fiscal year 2025. Unless Take-Two is planning on releasing some other influential game, it’s expecting "record levels of operating performance" during that time.
In an interview with CNBC, the host asked Zelnick about GTA 6’s possible release date. To this, the CEO did not give a direct response and said, "We leave the announcements about upcoming titles our labels." However, Zelnick did once again claim that Take-Two believes in the fact that it will "generate about 8 billion dollars in net bookings and over a billion dollars in adjusted operating cash flow" for the fiscal year, which will end in 2025.
However, this does not mean that the game will surely be released during that fiscal year but that it might be available at that particular point. If this turns out to be true, then fans can expect GTA 6 to release sometime between April 2024 to March 2025. GTA 6 releasing during this time does make a lot of sense, and it also lines up with all the previous leaks regarding the company’s plan for the open-world game.
Unfortunately, there is always the possibility of the game getting delayed or the game releasing much later than the specified release window. So, before you get too excited about the thought of playing GTA 6 in the next couple of years, just keep that in mind. If Take-Two plans on releasing the game in the 25 fiscal year, then fans can expect Rockstar Games to start revealing some footage from the game soon.
So far, all we know about the game is that it is currently in development, with leaks suggesting that the Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a male and female protagonist. The leaks also claim that players will be returning to Vice City in the upcoming game, but before believing any of this, we should wait for Rockstar Games to officially confirm these rumors.
