Despite being under development for a long time, GTA 6 hasn’t received any new updates from Rockstar Games in a while. However, another leak just came forward suggesting that the upcoming GTA game might just end up following the footsteps of Fortnite in terms of its live events and seasons being introduced in its online mode. For the past couple of weeks, we have received many leaks regarding GTA 6’s gameplay, but we'll only focus on the online mode for now.
It is obvious that plenty of fans have been asking questions about GTA 6 Online, given that the online mode of GTA 5 was also quite popular among the community, with an average of 147,269 viewers in 2023 alone. So, it comes as no surprise to anyone that the fans are pretty curious about the upcoming GTA 6 online mode. One GTA insider, Tom Henderson, has revealed that the mode will follow the format of Fortnite seasons.
New Fortnite Seasons launch every 10-12 weeks and introduce several map changes, weapon changes, new Battle Pass, and live events. Henderson claims, “GTA 6’s Online mode is going to change over time, similar to Fortnite seasons, with live events.” If this leak turns out to be true, then it’s going to be a major dynamic for Rockstar, who haven’t yet introduced seasons to GTA Online. However, it is important to note that Rockstar hasn’t officially confirmed this news, so don’t take it too seriously.
Apart from revealing the leak regarding GTA 6’s online system, Henderson also claimed that the upcoming game might be set in modern times, introduce several characters, including a female hacker, be released sometime in 2024-2025, and will also feature the return of Vice City. On top of this, GTA 6 could also feature a map that is not as massive as one might have expected it to be.
Till all of these rumors and leaks are either confirmed or denied by Rockstar Games, leakers and insiders will continue to come up with their own theories as to what they might expect from Grand Theft Auto 6. However, for the time being, we’re just going to have to make do with the exciting fan trailers. Let’s hope Rockstar officially reveals some details soon about the game!
