Greta Gerwig has been taking Hollywood and the whole world like a storm with her direction in the movies Lady Bird, Little Women, and recently, Barbie, which was a global hit. The Chronicles of Narnia, on the other hand, got a trilogy from Walt Disney Pictures in the 2000s which was discontinued because while the first movie was a huge hit, the sequel and the third movie was not able to keep up with the success of the first film. Thankfully, Netflix picks up the title and Greta Gerwig will be cooking up a fresh batch of The Chronicles of Narnia movies.
Speaking with Collider, Netflix Head of Film Scott Stuber revealed during the grand reopening of the American Cinematheque an exciting update on Greta Gerwig's The Chronicles of Narnia movies:

The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels which was published in the early 1950s, written by C. S. Lewis. Since then, the book series has had various adaptions through radio, stage plays, television, video games, and movies. Walt Disney Pictures brought three movies from the title which are The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader before finally calling the film series off.
The Chronicles of Narnia follows the titular fantasy world of Narnia where magic, mythical creatures, and talking animals exist. The Pevensie siblings started the journey as they encountered the realm by going through a wardrobe and as prophesized in Narnia, the four siblings are destined to be its saviors from the cold drought brought by the Ice Queen, Jadis. With the lion Aslan, the Pevensie siblings go through Narnia to protect it from evil. The Chronicles of Narnia remains to be a classic in children's literature and to date, the best-selling work of C.S. Lewis.
There is no release date yet for Greta Gerwig's The Chronicles of Narnia.
