Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 is finally out and everyone is loving this week's action-packed episode of the anime. "Everyone" just happens to include Gege Akutami, who can't help but praise MAPPA for bringing to life not one but two epic showdowns in Hidden Inventory 4. The mangaka even went as far as to point out how the animation studio improved on one of his favorite characters.
Gege Akutami might not be active on social media but the Jujutsu Kaisen creator has been keeping up with the adaptation of his manga in his own way. Not surprisingly, the mangaka appears to be quite happy with how MAPPA has animated the Gojo's Past arc in the second season of the anime and repeatedly praises the studio for their hard work.
This is especially true when Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 was dropped. The anime's official Twitter account shared Akutami's reaction which he personally illustrated and commented on. As expected, the creator was proud of MAPPA's version of the fight at the Tombs of the Star Corridor, going as far as to point out that it is better than his version in the manga.
Manga readers would note that there were some interesting changes in the fight between Suguru Geto and Toji Fushiguro. For instance, there is a moment when Geto uses his finger to shoot curses at Fushiguro. Akutami clearly loved this shot and even recreated it in his comment on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4.
Although Akutami had a lot of praise for MAPPA, people also noted that he once again left out any mention of Satoru Gojo despite the sorcerer getting an epic rematch with Fushiguro. In the past, the mangaka has shared his animosity for the character but we think Akutami didn't mention Gojo because the sorcerer killed one of his favorite characters (Toji Fushiguro) in the episode.
We're certainly glad that Akutami is happy with what MAPPA has done for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. With that in mind, we're looking forward to the next (and last) episode of the first cour next week.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 is now available on Crunchyroll.
