Epic Games has left several Fortnitemares surprises off the table, but the new cinematic trailer still slots Curry Barker’s Obsession into this year’s licensed roster. The film now sits among the confirmed Halloween partners even as the rest of the seasonal slate stays partly hidden.
A teaser image unveiled a day earlier had already flagged The Purge together with Freddy Krueger and Slender Man. Five Nights at Freddy’s was previously revealed, and the cinematic returns to that crossover while recycling the same three icons. The footage still stops short of listing every mode and cosmetic planned for the event.
Later frames also point to Obsession (via the One Wish Willow) as part of this year’s event. Those shots share the reel with Beetlejuice and the Japanese manga Black Clover. A closing credit names the film and its rights holder even though the willow box itself appears only briefly.

The collabs previously revealed include Five Nights at Freddy’s, Beetlejuice, Slender Man, Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Purge, and Black Clover. That artwork put the licensed figures on the island and set the visual tone for the update.
Freddy Krueger is no longer limited to stills or silhouettes in the new cinematic trailer. He stands in a doorway on a stretch of Elm Street now folded into the Fortnite map, glove visible. Slender Man and The Purge imagery occupy neighboring shots in the same sequence.
Fortnite leaker HYPEX separately reported that every Resident Evil skin will return for the event. Those older Item Shop outfits sit apart from the new licensed drops and may not all land on opening day. Epic Games has not published a shop calendar for the returning set.
The trailer also sketches map work and boss encounters beyond cosmetics. Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza from Five Nights at Freddy’s is shown as a space players can enter, with the haunted animatronics staged as threats. Original doll-themed Fortnitemares outfits appear in the same cut, distinct from the licensed characters.
Epic Games is pairing first-time guests such as Freddy Krueger and Beetlejuice with properties already on the board. Black Clover supplies a manga presence inside a slate otherwise built from Western horror films and games. The Purge and Slender Man keep the event tied to familiar seasonal figures.
Exact Item Shop dates for each collaboration remain unpublished, and not every planned treat is on camera. Most outfits and related cosmetics are expected to arrive in waves across October rather than in a single drop. The cinematic’s role is to lock the tone and a short list of names while the rest of the month stays closed.
Fortnitemares 2026 kicks off on October 1, when the first wave of seasonal content is scheduled to go live. Players can drop into the updated island after the maintenance window that usually accompanies a major Fortnite patch. Additional trailers and shop listings are expected as October continues.
