Fortnite’s popular and beloved Halloween event, called Fortnitemares, has officially arrived for a limited time and has brought with it tons of new skins and content. Some original Halloween skins have been introduced in the battle royale game, including Michael Myers from the Halloween series, who’ll be available for players to play in the game. Some other themed skins are for Jack Skellington and an Alan Wake collaboration.
This crossover couldn’t have come at a more perfect time since Alan Wake 2 is also set to launch this month. Epic Games released a trailer for the Fortnitemares event, showing off all of the epic skins. Unfortunately, though, there’s a catch, which is that players can’t get their hands on all of these skins just yet.
This is because some of them, especially the ones players might be hoping to purchase, such as the Michael Myers set, will not be added to Fortnite until some time later during the Fortnitemares event, which is going to end in November. You can watch the Fortnitemares gameplay trailer below:
The trailer gives players a look at the popular Michael Myers skin as well as other skins and content, with the Halloween guest being shown off at the preview’s end. Disney’s Jack Skellington (appearing to be Disney’s first-ever non-Marvel and non-Star Wars skin added to Fortnite), The Shape, and Alan Wake, each character comes with their own bundle. These bundles also include some extras, such as a Zero back bling for Jack Skellington and a big knife for Michael Myers.
Fortnite hasn’t yet revealed the prices of these bundles, but players can expect them to cost a premium price, seeing how massive these crossovers actually are. However, we already know that the skins and the cosmetic items related to them will be sold through the Fortnite Item Shop instead of being available through the battle pass or quests that players complete.

The patch notes revealed by Epic Games for the Fortnitemares update also generally share the skins’ release dates and claim that they’ll become available "later during Fortnitemares 2023." So, keep an eye out for more formal announcements that might be revealed sometime in the future as the time for these skins’ release dates approaches.
Some Other Fortnitemares Content
Fortnite also introduced some of their own original skins to the battle royale game, including a swamp monster version of Fishstick known as Bogstick, a mummy known as Seth, a new take on the cat skin known as Phantom Meowscles, and Festival Phaedra. Aside from the skins, some extra in-game cosmetics have also been added that players can find all over the map during the Fortnitemares event.
A Wood Stake Shotgun is also present that could really help players in the new boss fight involving Kado Thorne, the Witch Broom, which allows players to fly around, the Vampiric Blade players get from killing boss, and a Pumpkin Launcher that shoots exploding pumpkins. Some of the consumables that have been unvaulted for this event consist of Hop Drops, Candy Corn, and Pepper Mints, all of them showing off their own special effects.
One other thing that’ll be introduced during the entire event is the popular Fortnitemares quests, which will help you get different items for free simply by completing those. So, players can save their money and simply wait for Michael Myers skin or some other popular skin to come out later on during the event.
