All eyes are now on Dragon Ball Super after Akira Toriyama’s unexpected passing earlier this month. Like the original Dragon Ball manga, Toriyama wrote Dragon Ball Super with illustrations by Toyotarou. Despite the grief, the illustrator pushes for the release of Chapter 103 as scheduled, marking the manga’s continuation since the mangaka’s demise. However, news emerged that Dragon Ball Super will enter a hiatus after its latest installment goes live on March 20, leaving the series’ fate in limbo.
A reliable Dragon Ball source, @DbsHype, shares on X that Dragon Ball Super will go on a break starting in April. His post comes with the V Jump cover, featuring the manga’s art celebrating the end of the Super Hero arc and confirming the hiatus news.
Hype also claims that no reason has been given for the hiatus, and it remains to be seen how long the manga will be on a break. So far, it’s not yet known if the series only follows its previous pattern of taking a quick rest after an arc is completed.
However, it has already been revealed that Dragon Ball Super will not be part of V Jump’s next feature in April. But though there are assumptions that it will return in May, there are no words about when the manga will continue after its break ends.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103 Pays Tribute to Akira Toriyama
Meanwhile, marking the first Dragon Ball Super release since Toriyama’s passing, Chapter 103 pays tribute to the legendary manga creator. The series is on its way to opening a new story with the upcoming end of the Super Hero arc. As Toriyama still managed to work on the finale, it’s now given the title of An Inheritance to the Future, deeming the continuation of his legacy.
Though the manga has wrapped up its adaptation of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, it has featured a new epilogue that has never been seen before. It explores how Gohan’s latest form can match Goku’s Ultra Instinct. Hence, in the new chapter, fans are about to see the battle between the two continue after Goku challenges Gohan to a fight to see how strong his new Beast Mode transformation has made him. By the looks of it, fans are about to see an incredible father-and-son face-off as the current arc ends.
