Demon Slayer is finally gearing up for the much-awaited release of its fourth season, featuring the manga’s Hashira Training Arc. As the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- World Tour officially begins today in Tokyo, Japan, the anime announced the official opening theme of Demon Slayer Season 4: Mugen by My First Story x Hyde. To celebrate this feat, the artists comment on this new project.

The anime’s X (formerly Twitter) page announced the opening theme for Demon Slayer Season 4, and further details were revealed on its official website. My First Story was chosen to create a track that perfectly depicts the Hashira’s intense training as they prepare for a battle against the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji. With arrangement and lyrics by the group and Chimeraz, Ufotable, the studio behind the anime, wanted a tune that would have a resemblance to the characters of the Demon Slayer Corps, the group’s leader Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and Muzan and would express their real intentions through their vocals.

With that in mind, My First Story and Hyde collaborate to produce music that will perfectly fit the upcoming season's theme. That said, the rock band’s vocalist, Hiroko Moriuchi, expressed his gratitude to be part of this project. He even called performing the opening theme an “overwhelming honor,” especially since they got to sing it with Hyde, who he called their “mentor and kind senior.”

“I am filled with the desire to make this work even more colorful and sublimated,” he said. “I put my heart and soul into this challenge, so please listen to it along with my work.”

Alternatively, Hyde said the Hashira Training Arc is an important part of Demon Slayer, where the main characters form a deeper bond between the battles and training. Hence, he hoped Mugen would live up to this story.

“Please enjoy the music along with the story,” he added.

Though it will be hard to get Himejima’s approval, Tanjiro will work hard to earn it. In addition, it will also see Muzan with the new Upper Rank 4 Nakime as they look for Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.

You can read the synopsis below:

Tanjiro goes to see the Stone Hashira, Himejima, who intends to prepare him for future battles. The training to become a Hashira—a high-ranking member of the Demon Slayer Corps—is intense and demanding. Earning Himejima's approval seems impossible, but Tanjiro won't give up! Meanwhile, the demon lord Muzan, along with the new Upper Rank 4, Nakime, continues to search for the location of Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.
