Laios is about to make his onscreen debut in the new Netflix anime series Delicious in Dungeon. Set in the world of dungeon exploration, the swordsman and his party will go on a different adventure that no one may have seen yet. To show what this means, the streamer has dropped a new trailer, showing their cooking journey to save his sister, Falin.
Based on the manga of the same name by Ryoko Kui, the series has received a positive reception, climbing the manga charts and becoming one of the best-selling manga in Japan when its serialization began in 2014. However, it took a while before it finally had an anime adaptation, produced by Studio Trigger and was announced in August 2022. After over a year, Netflix has released a new trailer.
The preview begins with the siblings Laios and Falin, with the latter telling his brother that “it might be better if they didn’t go together anymore.” As she bid her goodbye, little did he know that it would be the last time he would see his sister. “She was eaten,” he says.
Marcil, a skilled magician, tells Laios they failed due to their “empty stomach.” Senshi, a monster food specialist, then lets them choose to eat or be eaten in the dungeon, as being afraid won’t work in this place. As Chillchuck, a cute little hobbit, tells Laios he doesn’t want to lose him, with Marcil adding they have to save Falin quickly, their leader braves himself and declares to start their journey. From there, they can be seen running from the monsters and gathering their ingredients to begin their cooking adventure, promising they won’t have empty stomachs again.
What is Delicious in Dungeon about?
Delicious in Dungeon follows the story of the six adventurers who try to slay a dragon but end up needing to escape. They then lose Laios’ sister in the monster’s stomach after she uses her power to save them. After this defeat, two of their members decide to leave and join other parties, leaving Laios, Chilchuk, and Marcille behind while grieving Falin’s disappearance. As they plan to face the dragon again before Falin gets digested, they look for weapons, defenses, more team members, and, of course, food.

Delicious in Dungeon will be divided into two cours and released in January 2024. With its fantasy and comedy genre, this has the potential to become a fan favorite.
