Deadpool & Wolverine Will Reportedly Feature Logan and Hulk's Fight

A couple of insiders confirmed Hulk's appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, though the variant of Bruce Banner in the film remains to be seen.

Deadpool & Wolverine has once again made fans excited by dropping a new trailer last week that teases an epic face-off between Logan (Hugh Jackman) and Sabretooth (Tyler Mane). However, it looks like this won’t only be the intense battle viewers have to watch out for when the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie finally hits the big screen on July 26. Amid the number of cameos that the threequel will feature, it will reportedly include Hulk and there will be a fight between the MCU’s Bruce Banner and Wolverine.

An insider named HolyField News on X claimed earlier this year that Mark Ruffalo would return as Hulk in Deadpool & Wolverine to fight off the mutants. Though it remains to be seen if this will happen, the insider made another tweet that a face-off between Hulk and Wolverine would happen. However, they clarified that they were not sure if it would be Ruffalo’s Hulk who would appear in the movie this time.

“Hulk vs Wolverine is happening! Not 100% sure if it will be Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk tho,” the caption read.

Insider My Time to Shine Hello also made the claim. After shooting down the rumors over the weekend when a fan asked if Hulk would be in the movie, he shared another tweet to confirm that Hulk would be in the film, asking his followers not to mind what he initially said. However, he didn’t reveal what variant of Hulk Deadpool & Wolverine would feature.

“Actually, nevermind on that. Hulk's in it,” he tweeted.

As expected, many celebrated this news, with user @thelucaverse admitting they would lose it if a fight between Hulk and Wolverine happened.

User @austin_medz suggested that Wolverine would face a Hulk variant from Taika Waititi’s 2017 Thor: Ragnarok. It could be a Gladiator Hulk variant that Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) would unleash in the Void, which was proven by the alleged appearance of his bed in the trailer.

However, @TheGeekyCast proposed that Hulk would only be mentioned in the movie, and their battle would be saved for a possible fight between the X-Men and the Avengers.

Wolverine and Hulk’s Fight in Marvel Comics

If Wolverine and Hulk will indeed fight in Deadpool & Wolverine, it will be straight from the Marvel comics. The two first faced each other in Len Wein, Herb Trimpe, Jack Abel, Glynis Wein, and Artie Simek’s The Incredible Hulk #181, launching them as the kings of violent Marvel heroes.

Though their conflict then was not as violent as their later battles, it kicked off their intense hero rivalry that played out in future issues. John Arcudi, Armando Gil, Gina Going, and Janice Chiang’s What If... (Vol. 2) #50 featured their deadliest brawl when Hulk proved he could effortlessly kill Wolverine if he had the chance.

In Peter David, Todd McFarlane, Petra Scotese, and Rick Parker’s The Incredible Hulk #340, Hulk hit Wolverine so strong that he could have died. As several more comics saw their battles, Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s Old Man Logan saw Logan eliminate the Hulk Gang and kill the Hulk after he started healing himself. He ripped through Banner’s stomach when the latter ate him.

Though nothing is confirmed yet about Hulk’s appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, the rumors are enough to hype fans even more with the intense action and numerous cameos they will see in the movie. If this happens, the threequel can easily be one of the best MCU films.
