Ryan Reynolds announced the start of Deadpool & Wolverine’s presale tickets on Monday, May 21, by dropping new footage and a couple of posters that gave a good look at the titular characters. As expected, the presale went so well that the movie broke Fandango’s first-day ticket sales. So, to celebrate this feat, the digital network shares a new look at Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman's Logan.

Fandango shares a new still for Deadpool & Wolverine in a post on X. It features Wade and Logan wearing their hero suits. But as Deadpool puts his hands on his mouth, seemingly surprised by something he sees, Logan shows off his muscles in his sleeveless suit. By the looks on his face, he seems confused or disgusted by what they’re looking at.

In the caption, Fandango reveals that the Marvel Cinematic Film broke its best first-day ticket sales record for 2024. It’s also the best first-day pre-seller from the Deadpool franchise, though its earnings aren’t revealed yet.

Will the Marvel Cinematic Universe have another $1B hit with Deadpool & Wolverine?

With the success of Deadpool & Wolverine’s first day of presale tickets, there are now questions if the movie will hit the $1 billion mark. Insider MyTimeToShineHello asks their Twitter followers about their prediction for the film’s opening weekend, changing it from $100 million to $1 billion. Though the reactions are mixed, with some saying it depends on the story, cameos, and characters, many predict it may gross over a billion dollars.

If this happens, the MCU may finally have another $1 billion hit after the release of Avengers: Endgame in 2019. It’s no secret that the franchise has failed to continue its box-office success after the end of the Infinity Saga. A couple of its movies, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, were commercial flops. So, if Deadpool & Wolverine becomes commercially successful, it may help the MCU regain momentum.

What is Deadpool & Wolverine about?

Marvel Studios has released a new profanity-laced synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine. The franchise is known for its F-bombs, and this is even the first R-rated movie for Disney and the studio. It calls the film “most significant mistake to date” and Wolverine “reluctant.” In the movie, Wade will ask for the adamantium-clawed hero’s help to face a common enemy and save the Sacred Timeline.

You can read Deadpool & Wolverine’s R-rated synopsis below:

Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine . A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to – F*ck. Synopses are so f*cking stupid.
