Deadpool & Wolverine may not be out until several months, but the movie has been the talk of the town as of late. Well, it’s not surprising at all knowing that it will be the first Deadpool film to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and see the title characters in The Multiverse Saga. However, as Phase Five has been teasing the future of the MCU, Deadpool 3’s CinemaCon footage is now setting the stage for the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars.

As detailed by Comicbook, Disney’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 11, started with Deadpool & Wolverine, showing off an extensive nine-minute footage from the film and a “silence your phone” PSA. There, Wade Wilson and Logan, in their full superhero costumes, talked about the rumors about Secret Wars and it would allegedly be soon unveiled.

“So, I heard Secret Wars is finally gonna introduce....,” Deadpool told Wolverine.

However, as Deadpool tried to explain his theories about the new Avengers movie, they were interrupted by a phone ringing. Wolverine then pushed the Merc with a Mouth out of his way and faced the camera to reprimand the audience by asking them to turn off their phones and dropping a lot of f-words—true to the film’s style.

Later, the audience finally got their look at the nine-minute footage, which Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy specially created for CinemaCon, with Deadpool and Wolverine traversing the multiverse. Without revealing too much, it shows Wade as a car salesman after retiring from the superhero world. It then reveals his birthday party celebration, which was first featured in the Super Bowl trailer. He’s later seen mentioning Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige’s name, listing the things he can’t show in the film, like doing cocaine, and arriving at the Time Variance Authority.

Wade Wilson to Save The Sacred Timeline in Deadpool & Wolverine

As the Deadpool & Wolverine CinemaCon footage also unveils the film’s other characters, like Peter, Shatterstar, Dopinder, Blind AI, Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Yuko, and Vanessa, the TVA arrives, with Paradox abducting Wade. He then finds himself sitting in a room across from the TVA agent, revealing they’re in charge of defending The Sacred Timeline.

“That's a sh-t ton of exposition for a threequel,” Wade says. “Is this because I used Cable's time device?”

Paradox then reveals that Wade can save the entire timeline, with the latter starting to think that he’s going to Marvel and asking how “cinematic it is.” “Indiscriminate cameos?” he asks.

Paradox then shows him footage of the Avengers on the screen and tells him he’s ready to leave his timeline and join the world he has always wanted. From there, Wade declares he’s the Messiah and the Marvel Jesus. He’s later revealed with a new suit and now holding adamantium katanas.

Of course, the clip will not be complete without Wade’s classic comical lines. As the footage cuts to show Wolverine and Deadpool riding together, the latter mocks the X-Man’s suit.

“The X-Men make you wear that?” he asks. “Friends don't let friends leave the house looking like they play for the Los Angeles Rams.”
