Deadpool 3 Filming Officially Wraps; Ryan Reynolds and Dogpool Share Updates

Ryan Reynolds announced that Deadpool 3 has wrapped filming, and Dogpool also shared a production update.

Filming for Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 movie has officially concluded, so we're one step closer to seeing the return of Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Reynolds shared an update on Instagram, with Dogpool also confirming the news. Despite the series of delays, production finally resumed late last year. Leaked photos from the set have given fans a glimpse at what to expect from the highly-anticipated film, and although the filming process has been somewhat marred by a constant leak of these set images, filming has now finally wrapped.

Reynolds made the announcement on his Instagram accompanied by a photo of his Deadpool suit:

"The suit hides the blood. Also sweat... But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it's mostly tears," Reynolds wrote. "A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and Hugh Jackman ... all under the stalwart leadership of Shawn Levy. "I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn't happen very often. See ya July 26th..."

And here's the update from Dogpool's Instagram account, confirming that the dog who's expected to fight alongside Wade Wilson has wrapped filming:

"That's a wrap on my first movie! We worked our pants off but it was worth it. Everyone on set was the utmost professional, especially Shawn Levy and Hugh Jackman. And a super-hero big bow-wow-WOW to the entire crew," the dog wrote. "No matter the challenge, you rose to the task and made it look easy. I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe one person who was a little extra to deal with. But don't worry, I've forgiven him. I even left him a very special warm, personal gift in his trailer."

Who will be in Deadpool 3?

Hugh Jackman, who last played Wolverine in James Mangold's 2017 Academy Award-nominated Logan film, will reprise his X-Men role in Deadpool 3, but other than him, we can expect Emma Corrin, who's playing a leading villain role alongside Succession star Matthew Macfayden, whose role is currently undisclosed.

Jennifer Garner will reportedly reprise her role as Elektra, and joining her are Brianna Hildebrand and Morena Baccarin, who will will reprise their roles from the previous Deadpool movies, in the roles of X-Men member Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Vanessa, Wade Wilson's fiancée.

Fans should prepare themselves for just about anything as we might see previous X-Men actors such as Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier) return in the movie. Stewart talked about his iconic role on Happy Sad Confused podcast.

"I have every confidence he's still around," Stewart joked when the topic shifted towards Professor X's multiple movie deaths. "It has come up, there's been a process," he said when asked about appearing in Deadpool 3. "But the last two-three years have been so difficult with the labor problems and the health problems, COVID, you know..."
