Jennifer Garner is returning to Marvel, and this time, it's going to be with Wade Wilson! Deadpool 3 has reportedly added the Daredevil star to its cast and she will be reprising her role as Elektra Natchios.
In 2003, Jennifer Garner played Elektra opposite Ben Affleck's Matt Murdock in Daredevil. Although Elektra was killed off in the film, Garner's version of the character proved to be a fan favorite. The femme fatale became so popular that 20th Century Fox decided to release a spin-off movie that focused on Elektra's past.
Elektra turned out to be a box office flop and plans for a sequel to the 2005 spin-off fizzled soon after its release. However, it looks like Jennifer Garner is finally ready to suit up all over again for Deadpool 3.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Deadpool 3 has added Jennifer Garner to its cast. According to multiple sources, Garner is set to return as Elektra in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.
This is an exciting update considering that there are only a few names confirmed for Deadpool 3. We already know that Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson while Logan star Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the sequel.
For now, it's unclear whether Elektra Natchios will be working with Deadpool and Wolverine. In addition to that, it is unclear whether she will be joined by Ben Affleck's version of Daredevil. However, we're expecting more updates on the sequel soon.
We're loving the idea of Elektra (and even Daredevil) being in Deadpool 3. On the other hand, Marvel Studios and Disney have not yet confirmed the casting news. With that in mind, it's best to take the update with a grain of salt.
Deadpool 3 is currently in production. The sequel will hit theaters on May 3, 2024.
