Deadpool 3 is undoubtedly one of Marvel Studios' most highly anticipated films in its current roster. Unfortunately, the sequel will not hit theaters next year. It has just been revealed that the third Deadpool film has lost its 2024 release date, while The Marvels is moving forward later this year.
If there's one 20th Century Fox property that everyone has been excited about, it would be Deadpool 3. Although people were initially concerned about Wade Wilson getting censored as he makes the big move to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ryan Reynolds promises that the Merc with a Mouth will be just as raunchy as ever in the sequel. However, the project just hit another obstacle.
Disney just dropped its earnings report for the third quarter of 2023 and it reveals that Deadpool 3 is no longer part of the House of Mouse's roster of theatrical releases next year. The film was initially announced to premiere on May 3, 2024. However, it is no longer listed, and the only Disney release in May will be Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

So, what exactly happened to Deadpool 3? The film had already begun production in July, and fans were delighted to see Hugh Jackman's return as Wolverine in a comic-accurate suit. However, filming had to be halted following the SAG-AFTRA actors' strike. Considering that the movie cannot continue production right now, Disney may have removed it from the roster with an aim to give it a later release date.
This isn't the happiest news for Deadpool fans, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting a cool update later this year. The earnings report also confirmed that The Marvels will hit theaters in November despite rumors of a possible delay. This means we'll get to see Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan in action before the end of the year.
The Marvels will star Brie Larson, Teyonah Parrish, and Iman Vellani. It will premiere on November 10, 2023. In the meantime, Deadpool 3 has not yet been given a new release date. Check this page for more updates on this story.
