Inio Asano’s manga, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, will finally have an anime adaptation. However, instead of a series, it will be a two-part movie telling the story of Kadode Koyama and Ouran Nakagawa. Now, the anime has dropped the trailer for the upcoming film. Aside from giving a glimpse of a one-sided war in Tokyo, it also reveals the main cast and theme songs. You can check the preview below:
The Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction trailer begins with a huge sphere hitting the city of Tokyo, causing major destruction. Despite that, Nakagawa and Koyama continue their lives as usual, enjoying their meal together at a diner. A spaceship appears across the sky and is closely monitored by the Japan Self-Defense Forces.
As the first part’s theme song, Zezzezzezzettai seiiki by Ano feat. Lilas Ikuta, begins to play, Nakagawa and Koyama continue to bond with their classmates, eating together, taking pictures, and even walking the streets amid the threat. However, despite seemingly looking harmless, the government starts the war against the aliens, leaving Nakagawa and Koyama in fear. At one point, Koyama even drops her sandwich while watching the news about the attack, making her remember her friends, as the second part’s theme, Seishun ōka by Lilas Ikuta feat. Ano, begins.

Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction follows the story of the two best friends, Kadode Koyama and Ouran Nakagawa. These two have been living life as usual despite the appearance of the huge spaceship in Tokyo. The government then tries to fight the threat by using conventional weapons. But as it has no effect, they will opt for something unconventional. The anime movie is based on the manga of the same name by Inio Asano. It was serialized in Big Comic Spirits magazine from April 2014 to February 2022 and collected 12 tankobon volumes. By March 2022, it had over 3 million copies in circulation. It was released in English in North America by Viz Media. Production +h adapted the series into a two-part anime film.
The first part of Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction is scheduled for release on March 22, while the second is on April 19 in Japan. So far, there are no words about whether it will be released internationally. With the manga’s good reception, receiving several awards and ranking as one of the top 20 manga for male readers, many will surely look forward to seeing it on the big screen.
