The premiere of Solo Leveling anime hooked fans into the world of monsters that have entered through the supernatural "gates" — the paths that connect our world with another dimension, and humans known as "Hunters", who have awakened to magical powers. The first two episodes have already been released on Crunchyroll, and they showed protagonist Jinwoo Sung facing a life-or-death scenario in a shocking dungeon exploration filled with powerful threats and brutality on Attack on Titan level.
A-1 Pictures, the Japanese animation studio behind the animation of popular anime shows such as Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and Mashle: Magic and Muscles, is producing the animation for Solo Leveling, which is based on a South Korean webtoon written by Chugong and illustrated by Jang Sung-rak (aka Dubu). Behind-the-Scenes Look at Solo Leveling's Opening
Solo Leveling anime's opening theme song is performed by Hiroyuki Sawano and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, titled LEvel, and the second episode of the highly-anticipated series gave fans their first look at the spectacular opening sequence. Now, A-1 Pictures Animation Producer 金子敦史, who goes by @kanegone_1006 on X, has shared a 48-second clip giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how the animation team brought the opening sequence to life, and it's pretty fascinating.
What is the plot of Solo Leveling?
Solo Leveling follows the story of the E-rank hunter, Jinwoo Sung, who’s also known for being the weakest hunter of all humanity, and his only contribution to raids is trying not to get killed. However, due to the dire need to pay his mother’s hospital bills and his sister’s tuition, he has no choice but to risk his life to earn. So, when he gets the chance to have a bigger paycheck, he grabs the opportunity even if it means he has to face a powerful being.
