Netflix has released the first clip of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, and it wastes no time putting Weak back in harm’s way. The short piece follows the washed-up legend who used to be called King and treats Night City as a place where a job can turn fatal before anyone has time to blink.
The footage opens on Weak moving down a cramped industrial corridor with two companions behind him, red cyber-optics fixed ahead as the mood of the run already feels wrong. The sequence then slams into crimson-tinted action: a fighter scales a high window, a crown-marked gun fires in close-up, a massive cybernetic body crashes through a structure, street security shouts into a headset, and a child walks a sunlit sidewalk beyond a fence. It ends with Weak leaving a blood-soaked body on the pavement before the Netflix logo takes the frame.

Netflix announced Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 back in June and also revealed the first teaser trailer during that same rollout. The new season is a standalone story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, which means characters like David, Lucy, and Rebecca are not expected to return.
Studio TRIGGER is animating Night City again after the 2022 original, this time with Kai Ikarashi directing a fresh 10-episode run. Showrunner Bartosz Sztybor and character designer Ichigo Kanno are back as well, assembling a new crew around Weak Kingsley, nomad netrunner D, young cinephile Roman Carax, and Maelstrom-linked Talia Yang.
Official descriptions paint Weak as a veteran living in the shadow of former glory, a man now searching for purpose after the chrome and reputation that once defined him slipped away. The first clip does not linger on that backstory so much as prove the point in motion, showing a heavy who can still finish a fight even when the streets are bright and witnesses are close.
D is framed as a Snake Nation netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan, a revenge path that official copy says will brush against corporate secrets never meant to surface. Roman documents Night City on analog cameras in a city that prefers braindances, while Talia moves between corpo towers and chrome-soaked street violence.
Those four names replace the first series rather than extend it. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners remains the tonal blueprint, but the sequel is built as an anthology chapter in the same brutal metropolis instead of a reunion of the old crew.
The setting itself has not cooled off since 2022. Night City is still a self-contained sprawl of megacorps, gangs, and public spectacle, where body modification is ordinary and a quiet sidewalk can sit one cut away from a massacre.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 arrives exclusively on Netflix on October 20, 2026. All ten episodes are scheduled to land on the service that same day.
