In a few weeks, fans are about to return to the dojo for the final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai. The senseis and students are now thinking of a way to compete in the Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate, after being eliminated from the Valley. Thankfully, they will soon know how to do so after Ralph Macchiato’s Daniel LaRusso finds the secrets of Mr. Miyagi, his mentor in John G. Avildsen's Karate Kid, in the Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 1 trailer.

You can watch the Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 1 trailer below:

The Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 1 trailer starts with Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) being arrested for assaulting Raymond (Paul Walter Hauser) and for all of his crimes in the previous season. Daniel and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), along with their students, are finally on the same page as they work together after settling things out in the Valley. However, it isn’t the end of their struggle yet, as they now have to face everything life has to throw their way as they prepare for the Sekai Taikai.

Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) lead the students as their training begins. Tory Nichols (Peyton List) and Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser) start sparring. Later, Johnny gives Daniel an axe, which the latter says is for training like Rocky IV style, to chop down the tree and carry it through the snow.

As Daniel starts worrying about their chance to join the karate world championships, Johnny begins the students’ practice. However, just like before, Daniel and Johnny seem to be getting on each other’s nerves, as the former confronts the Eagle Fang Karate founder not to lose the balance.

“Since when do I run sh*t by you?” Johnny asks Daniel. “Since we have no idea what we’re up against,” Daniel responds.

The preview also shows John Kreese’s (Martin Kove) return after escaping prison, and it seems he’s training his own students in his new dojo. However, as Daniel and Johnny have joined forces, they strongly believe they have the strongest team to handle anything. But before the trailer ends, Daniel finds a secret locker on the floor.

“Miyagi-san buried secrets for a reason,” Chozen says. “If we open, anything is possible.” As Daniel opens the old chest, he, Chozen, and his wife, Amanda Larusso (Courtney Henggeler), are all surprised by what they see.
