The journey to protect Kim Yoo-jung as she turns into a crispy-fried chicken nugget will soon begin in the new Netflix K-drama Chicken Nugget. After a recently released trailer shows how the My Demon star gets lost in a bunch of other food, the latest preview reveals how her father, Seung-ryong, and fan, Ahn Jae-hong, will do their best as her protectors.

The new Chicken Nugget preview stills focus on Seung-ryong and Jae-hong’s unique chemistry as a company boss and his apprentice. In the first preview, the Miracle in Cell No. 7 star holds a box of chicken nuggets alongside the younger Korean actor, followed by a still of them talking, seemingly finding a way to turn Yoo-jung into her human form. Seung-ryong then carefully grasps one piece of nugget with his two hands and looks worried after what happened.

Jae-hong then shows his fighting moves as he’s ready to protect her crush at all costs despite turning into food. To completely put Yoo-jung into safety, the 53-year-old versatile actor puts his child, now a chicken nugget, inside an acrylic box. In addition, to show his love for Yoo-jung, Jae-hong offers her a song while playing his guitar with the plastic box in front of him. For the last still, the two gear up, complete with weapons and helmets to protect Yoo-jung.

Ryu Seung-ryong and Ahn Jae-hong Talk About Their Roles in Chicken Nugget

Fans are maybe used to seeing Seung-ryong in more serious roles, but this time, he’s about to bring fun and laughter to Netflix’s Chicken Nugget. So, talking about his transition into comedic acting, he told Naver (via Soompi) that he tends to do the unexpected and goes beyond imagination and stereotypes to do the new K-drama.

Alternatively, Jae-hong finds it’s his fate to do the series, seeing the similarities of his and his character’s eyebrows. To play his role perfectly, he even learned how to dance from choreographer Aiki. He also visited music director Park Sang-woo, who taught him his singing and guitar skills in Melo Is My Nature.

Moreover, Seung-ryong discussed his chemistry with Jae-hong, saying they move as one despite not checking every detail of what they’re about to do before the rehearsals. “It felt like I was participating in a table tennis tournament as a doubles team with the greatest senior actor,” Jae-hong added.
