Netflix has ignited global anticipation with the release of the first official teaser trailer for Cashero, its wildly inventive Korean superhero thriller starring Lee Jun-ho (King the Land, The Red Sleeve) and Kim Hye-jun (Nevertheless, Inspector Koo). The eight-episode series, which turns the cost of heroism into literal currency, is now confirmed to premiere worldwide on December 26, 2025.
Adapted from the hit Kakao Webtoon of the same name by creative team befar, Cashero centers on Kang Sang-ung (Lee Jun-ho), a mild-mannered public servant working at a district community center whose life is upended when he awakens a bizarre superpower: his physical strength, speed, durability, and agility scale directly with the amount of cash he carries in his pockets or wallet. The catch? Every superhuman feat instantly deducts the exact monetary value of the power used—turning every heroic act into a desperate race against bankruptcy.
The trailer also offers tantalizing flashes of the stacked supporting cast: veteran Kim Byong-chul (Sisyphus: The Myth) as Byeon Ho-in, the iron-fisted chairman of the Korean Coalition of Superheroes; Kim Hyang-gi (Moment at Eighteen) as the ferocious young hero Bang Eun-mi; rising star Lee Chae-min (Crash Course in Romance, Hierarchy) in a yet-undisclosed but clearly pivotal role; and Kang Han-na (My Roommate Is a Gumiho) adding another layer of intrigue to the ensemble.
Directed by Lee Chang-min, whose credits include the stylish legal thriller The Devil Judge, and written by the acclaimed duo Lee Jane and Jeon Chan-ho (The Good Detective), Cashero blends pulse-pounding set pieces with biting social commentary on wealth disparity, consumerism, and the commodification of justice. Production studio SLL—behind hits such as All of Us Are Dead and The Glory—has promised groundbreaking visual effects that make cash itself a tangible, glowing source of power.
Complementing the trailer launch, Netflix Korea unveiled a stunning character poster featuring Lee Jun-ho as Kang Sang-ung. Shot in dramatic profile against an otherworldly emerald backdrop, Kang gazes stoically as luminous banknotes cascade from his outstretched hand like liquid energy. His weathered brown jacket and the faint look of financial dread in his eyes perfectly capture the series’ core tension.
Cashero will premiere globally on Netflix on December 26, 2025, with all eight episodes available to stream simultaneously in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, and more—complete with subtitles and dubbed options. Viewers can already add the title to their watchlists, ensuring they won’t miss what promises to be one of the streamer’s most inventive and visually spectacular Korean originals of the year.
