Sam Wilson is back as the new Captain America after taking on the mantle from the original Avengers member Steve Rogers. This time, he will work with the newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross. However, not everything between the two will be smooth sailing, as the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World shows Red Hulk seemingly preparing to fight Sam Wilson.

The Captain America: Brave New World preview opens with Ross at the White House as he welcomes Wilson’s arrival. As the two finally meet, Wilson can’t help but notice Ross’ new look, admitting he has to lose his mustache to win the election. Their conversation starts to get serious when Ross tells Wilson that he wants to give Captain America another official military position despite their misunderstandings in the past.
“And if we disagree on how to manage a situation, then what happens?” Wilson asks as something sinister is about to happen.
As the chaos begins, with explosions and attacks happening outside the White House, Ross asks Wilson to work with him to “show the world a better way forward.” But while in the middle of giving a speech, Isaiah Bradley seems to be manipulated and tries to assassinate the president.
This makes Wilson realize that Ross’ inner circle has been compromised, and he is caught in the middle of a political conspiracy. However, Wilson is puzzled whether the POTUS can’t or doesn’t want to see what is happening. With these turns of events, Joaquin Torres can’t help but ask Wilson if this issue is just a trap.
As the action begins, Samuel Sterns reveals that global power is shifting and tells someone, “You’re just a pawn.” The trailer also gives its first look at Giancarlo Esposito’s mysterious character as he joins the fight, holding his weapon while a car explodes in the distance. While the city is in ruins, Ross tells Wilson that he may be Captain America but not Steve Rogers.
“You’re right. I’m not,” Wilson admits as he later takes the skies, wearing Captain America’s suit. But before the trailer ends, Red Hulk appears and catches Captain America’s shield before throwing it on the ground, seemingly preparing for a big fight against Wilson.
In addition, Marvel Studios has released a new poster for Captain America: Brave New World. It shows the Red Hulk holding Captain America’s shield, teasing a great battle between them.
