Marvel Rivals will soon begin its Closed Beta Test as it's previously set to launch on July 23 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). The Closed Beta Test will run from 6 p.m. ET on that day through August 5 at 3 a.m. ET. The initial announcement for next stage of Marvel Rivals' development previously revealed the playable characters and four different maps across the Multiverse that will be in the Closed Beta Test, NetEase Games and Marvel Entertainment have shared more of what to expect on the next test period for the 6v6 Overwatch-style shooter, including an in-game event, a tournament, and additional ways to bring more players to test in the future.

Galacta's Quest is the in-game event for the Closed Beta Test, and it will let players compete in quests and earn event XP in order to unlock various rewards, including "Cyan Clash", the closed beta exclusive Venom costume. The reward can only be unlocked in the Closed Beta Test, and participants will be able to use it when Marvel Rivals officially launches later this year as long as they use the same account.

Marvel Rivals players that reach level 6 can get an additional invite code from the in-game event page for a limited time. The codes will be given daily on a first-come, first-served basis with a set daily limit.

The upcoming Twitch Drop event will let participants a chance to claim Closed Beta Test access through the event. According to the announcement, there will be drops for grabs from 00:00 on July 25 UTC to 00:00 on July 28 UTC, and that additional information on the Twitch Drops will be revealed soon.

Marvel Rivals: War of The Realms – 6v6 Tournament

Closed Beta Test participants will also be able to sign up to join the War of the Realms, which will be split into two phases.

  1. Registrations open from July 25 to July 30, 2024 (UTC)

  2. Tournaments run from July 30 to August 4, 2024 (UTC)

Players will compete in the War of the Realms across four exciting tournaments:

  • War of The Realms for PC – North America

  • War of The Realms for PC – Europe

  • War of The Realms for PC – Asia

  • War of The Realms for Console – Unified

Regardless of their region, players will be able to join any one of the four Tournaments, but it's worth noting that trying to join a distant server may result in high-latency matches.

What to Expect in Marvel Rivals Closed Beta

The closed beta will include 21 playable characters, with a roster that includes Spider-Man, Iron Man, Magneto, Loki, Venom, Doctor Strange, Luna Snow, Groot, Mantis, Magik, Peni Parker, Hela, Namor, Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Storm, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Punisher, and Adam Warlock. That's the entire roster announced so far, so participants will be able to test out all the playable characters in the closed beta.

The available maps will be Yggsgard: Royal Palace, Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path, Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands, and Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya. There will be three modes available: Convoy, Domination, and Convergence.
