The Amazing Spider-Man films are all set to arrive on a beloved streaming platform soon. Both 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, and 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available for fans to stream on Netflix this October 1, 2023, Sunday. The two movies are some of the most recent Sony movies to arrive on Netflix after both companies struck a streaming deal back in 2021.
This is one particular piece of news that has shocked plenty of fans, considering the fact that Netflix mostly features titles that belong to Marvel Studios. Before this move was made, both The Amazing Spider-Man films were exclusively streaming on Disney+. Even though this move might have surprised a lot of fans, it has also hyped up many too!
The Amazing Spider-Man Cast
Andrew Garfield was the main lead in both The Amazing Spider-Man movies, who played the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The movie’s cast also features Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben Parker, Sally Field as Aunt May Parker, Rhys Ifans as Curt Conners/The Lizard, Paul Giamatti as The Rhino, Dan DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Denis Leary as Captain Stacy, and Jamie Foxx as Electro.
The three actors Foxx, Garfield, and Ifans also reprised their respective roles in the latest MCU title Spider-Man: No Way Home. In a quote from the movie’s official art book, Andrew Garfield claimed that Peter Parker’s story is going to continue regardless of what future productions might have in store. Andrew Garfield’s Plans On Returning As Spider-Man
In last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield made a shocking return as we saw him team up with Maguire and Holland’s incarnations. This was finally revealed after the actor kept teasing for months about whether he’d even be featured in the movie or not. During an interview with Variety at the beginning of 2023, Garfield shared that he's open to coming back once again.
He said, "I mean, yes, definitely open to something if it felt right. Peter and Spider-Man, those characters are all about service, to the greater good and the many. He's a working-class boy from Queens that knows struggle and loss and is deeply empathetic. I would try to borrow Peter Parker's ethical framework in that, if there was an opportunity to step back in and tell more of that story, I would have to feel very sure and certain in myself." Let’s just hope we do see his return in more Spider-Man movies!
