Blue Beetle Reshoot Request Denied by Warner Bros. In Favor of Aquaman 2

It looks like Warner Bros. might be playing favorites. A new report reveals that the studio favored one DC film over another as it allowed Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom to do some reshoots earlier this year. However, Warner Bros. also turned down the request to shoot additional scenes for the upcoming movie Blue Beetle.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Aquaman 2 had done some reshoots almost two years after the sequel began production. Patrick Wilson, who was promoting his new film Insidious: The Red Door, revealed that he recently shot new scenes as Orm for the upcoming DC flick. However, it was not revealed what scenes need to be reshot for the movie.

But is it possible that Warner Bros. is favoring one DC project over another? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the team behind Blue Beetle requested two days of reshoots. However, they were ultimately turned down by the studio.

So what is the reason for the denial? It is believed that Warner Bros. currently has low box office expectations for the film. After all, Blue Beetle is decidedly less popular as a superhero compared to Arthur Curry. Moreover, Aquaman was a major box office hit for the studio and the sequel is expected to perform very well later this year.

It's also possible that Aquaman 2 does need a lot of improvement considering its trouble production. On the other hand, Warner Bros. may have decided that Blue Beetle is already fine as it is and is ready to release the film next month.
