Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is going through some reshoots. Although this shouldn't be big news, it might confirm that the sequel is changing its storyline two years after it began production.Back in 2021, director James Wan confirmed that Aquaman 2 has began production and filming concluded in early 2022. However, it was later revealed that the movie would go through some reshoots.
But how long have the reshoots been going on? Patrick Wilson is currently promoting his directorial debut Insidious: The Red Door but he also spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. When asked about his DC character, Wilson said, "Orm is awesome. I was with him last week."

Interestingly, the interview notes that it was conducted in the last week of June. This means that Patrick Wilson reshot some of his scenes on the third week of last month.
It's unclear why Aquaman 2 continues to go through reshoots. However, there are speculations that The Lost Kingdom has changed its script to accommodate some changes in the new DC Universe. Some even believe that Amber Heard's scenes as Mera are being removed from the sequel and the reshoots are being done with her replacement. However, the recast has not yet been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. and DC Studios.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is set to be the final movie set in the previous DCEU and is currently expected to help in the transition to the new DC Universe. The film is still set to star Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry as he is forced to protect Atlantis from devastation after an ancient power is unleashed.
Aquaman 2 will also star Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman. It is currently scheduled for theatrical release on December 20, 2023.
