Netflix is now gearing up for the upcoming release of its new live-action adaptation series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. In about two weeks, the story of Aang is about to hit the small screen, and the streamer is now showing its fresh take on the beloved series. After giving a good look at the Avatar, the service has released a new teaser to introduce the Fire Nation.
You can see the preview below:
The new Avatar: The Last Airbender teaser shows Zuko writing about the history of the Fire Nation. As a series of intense fights begin, he narrates his realm has been at war for a century, started by his great-grandfather, Fire Lord Sozin, and continued by his father, Fire Lord Ozai. As a prince, Zuko knows that it’s his duty to ensure their land will win.
Zuko continues that his Uncle Iroh claims that some believe it’s their nature to “expand and consume” just like fire as his sister, Azula, takes the scene, followed by Commander Zhao. With the war that the Fire Nation has started, the firebending master is convinced that they have to become victorious. So, to do that, he needs to find the Avatar and give him to his father. “It’s my destiny,” he says.
