James Wan has been rushed to the hospital. The Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom director was brought to the emergency room (ER) for an undisclosed reason. However, Wan has broken his silence to share an update on his medical emergency, assuring fans that he is safe and in recovery.
The DC fan account Home of DCU shared a screenshot of James Wan's recent Instagram Story which shows the filmmaker in his hospital room. Wan's wife Ingrid Bisu added some context to the image, confirming that he was brought to the hospital for a medical emergency.
βIt has been an extremely rough and scary couple of days and nights. You never want to rush to ER in the middle of the night and then have to stay in the hospital. Cedars Sinai is truly the best!! The best doctors, nurses, technicians, just the most wonderful people. James is safe now and on the mend,β she wrote.
Wan and Bisu did not disclose why the Malignant director needed to be brought to the medical center. However, it is great to know that he is now in recovery. Although it is terrifying to know that James Wan needed to be brought to the hospital, it is assuring to know that he received great care and is expected to recover soon. We're hoping Wan gets better soon and we'll be waiting for updates on his health.
James Wan recently wrapped reshoots for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom although filming had reportedly concluded two years ago. There are speculations that the reshoots were required because the movie is changing major parts of its story. In addition, some believe that the film will minimize Amber Heard's scenes and focus on other characters instead. The sequel, which will bring back Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman, is still scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, 2023.
Wan is known for directing the first Saw film, Insidious, The Conjuring, and Furious 7. He served as a producer on M3GAN and the upcoming sequel Saw X. Wan's future projects include the horror comedy Night Swim, M3GAN 2.0, Salem's Lot, and Mortal Kombat 2.
