Recently, Netflix officially announces the renewal status of the series with Alice in Borderland Season 3 through a post online. A cryptic teaser is attached to the announcement having the number "3" and the Joker card. See the post below:
Alice in Borderland is based on the manga series of the same title by Haro Aso under Shogakukan's publication. The science fiction drama is directed by Shinsuke Sato which he co-wrote with Yoshiki Watabe, and Yasuko Kuramitsu. Appearing on Netflix, the show received a positive reviews from critics.
Similar to Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, the players selected in Alice in Borderland were all sent to what seems like a parallel universe. This time, it is an abandoned version of Tokyo and the only way out is to play the game until the end, or else, lasers would be shot out from the skies to effect an instant death.
When is the potential release date of Alice in Borderland Season 3?
There is no official release date yet for Alice in Borderland Season 3. It could take a year or even more, maybe even less. The best confirmation of the release date is still the official announcement of Netflix. Looking at the precedent set by Seasons 1 and 2, it took the makers of the show two years after the first season to pull off and release the second. With that, Alice in Borderland Season 3 could come out around late 2024 to 2025.
Who are the cast of Alice in Borderland Season 3?
As of the time of writing, only two cast members are confirmed to return and reprise their roles in Alice in Borderland Season 3. Yamazaki Kento who plays Arisu will be back to take on the Joker and beside him, of course, is Tsuchiya Tao who portrays Usagi. A report from Variety shows that the announcement of the renewal was made by Netflix VP of APAC content, Kim Minyoung, who said:
