Disney+ has just unveiled a thrilling Star Wars special Master and Apprentice: A Special Look at Ahsoka, scheduled to premiere later in September. Interestingly, it is strategically timed to follow Ahsoka Episode 5 by three days. So it's no surprise that the announcement has set the Star Wars fan community abuzz. After all, Episode 5 is directed by none other than Dave Filoni, a director renowned for helming episodes featuring significant revelations.
The connection between Filoni and major Star Wars reveals isn't lost on fans. Ahsoka, a beloved character, made her major live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 5 which created a massive stir. Notably, this episode also featured the iconic Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and the appearance of Cad Bane. Coincidentally, all of these events transpired under the direction of Dave Filoni.
Intriguingly, Filoni also takes the helm for the Master and Apprentice special, further fueling speculation among fans that this special might contain noteworthy revelations or hints about the Star Wars Universe, including the potential return of Hayden Christensen's character in Ahsoka. How will Ahsoka introduce Anakin Skywalker?
So what could the special feature mean for Ahsoka? There are speculations that Anakin Skywalker will make an appearance in the fifth episode. Ahsoka will star Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. Lars Mikkelsen, who provided the voice of Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels, will play the character in the live-action series. The upcoming Disney+ show will premiere on the streamer on August 23, 2023. Meanwhile, Master and Apprentice: A Special Look at Ahsoka will air on September 15, 2023.
