Anakin Skywalker's long-anticipated return in Ahsoka Episode 5 brought with it a slew of captivating new powers. As he guided his former Padawan Ahsoka Tano through a series of profound lessons, their journey culminated in Ahsoka's spiritual rebirth, symbolized by her adoption of a new, pristine white outfit.
Ahsoka Episode 5 introduced a remarkable development to the Star Wars saga—Anakin's ability to seamlessly traverse the boundaries between the Light and Dark sides of the Force. Additionally, he exhibited a profound familiarity with the enigmatic World Between Worlds, a realm of mystical significance. Fans have begun to theorize that Anakin's reappearance is intricately linked to the deep mythology explored during the Clone Wars series.
In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan Kenobi found themselves in a surreal and supernatural realm called Mortis. There, they encountered three powerful Force entities: the Father, the Son, and the Daughter. The Son represented the Dark Side, the Daughter embodied the Light Side, and the Father stood as the Balance between them.

The Father saw in Anakin the potential to succeed him, given Anakin's status as the Chosen One. Anakin, however, declined the offer and departed, with the Imperial March ominously underscoring his exit. This adventure continued in subsequent episodes, ultimately resulting in the deaths of the three Force entities. Nevertheless, they resurfaced in Star Wars Rebels, depicted on a mural at the entrance to the World Between Worlds.
The significance of this mythology from The Clone Wars and its connection to Anakin's current role remains a compelling and uncharted aspect of the Star Wars narrative, leaving fans eager for further exploration of this enigmatic territory. However, a Reddit theory suggests that Anakin has done exactly what the Father wanted him to do: Fulfill his destiny and represent the Balance in the Force. This could be why he represented both when facing Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds.
Although this suggests that Anakin will no longer return (unless one of the characters visits the World Between Worlds again), it also means he's playing an important role in the mystical realm and could be someone who could show up again in future Star Wars projects. With that in mind, it's great to think that Anakin was able to overcome the turmoil he faced when he was alive.
It is still unclear whether Anakin will be back in the next episodes. In the meantime, Ahsoka Episode 6 will premiere on Disney+ on September 19, 2023.
