The Ahsoka trailer already confirmed that we're getting orange lightsabers this August, but the color is only half of why the new weapons are causing a lot of debate about the Star Wars series. The character posters just offered a closer look at Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati's lightsabers, and it seemingly confirms that we're in for a completely new weapon this year.

Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati are two new characters who will be introduced in Ahsoka, and as the new villains, they are set to go up against Ahsoka Tano. The trailer has confirmed that these two are efficient with their orange lightsabers, but the new character posters revealed more about Baylan's weapon. Interestingly, it could introduce a new type of lightsaber into the Star Wars Universe.

The new Baylan Skoll poster reveals his lightsaber, and it is a hefty weapon. People noted that the hilt is longer and sturdier than a standard lightsaber, suggesting that it acts more like a claymore that would require two hands to wield. And, as Screenrant notes, it could confirm that there will be a new type of weapon in the series.

It is noted that the orange hue of the lightsabers could be the result of using kohler crystals instead of the usual kyber crystals. The kohler crystals have different attributes, meaning Baylan and Shin must adapt to the change. Their solution might be to create completely new weapons that can carry the kohler crystals' heaviness. In addition to that, the villains will need to adopt a new style of fighting.
