There is little doubt that the two-episode premiere of Ahsoka gave us action, adventure, humor, and a lot of mystery. However, the biggest reveal in the new Star Wars series is probably the existence of an entirely new galaxy.
In Ahsoka Episode 1, the titular Jedi finds a heavily encrypted star map that holds the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Not surprisingly, she seeks out the help of her former Padawan Sabine Wren. There's tension between the two but we'll talk about that later because we need to discuss what's in that star map.
Sabine manages to decrypt the star map but is immediately attacked by Shin Hati who Baylan Skoll sent to retrieve the relic. Although they lose the map, Morgan Elsbeth unlocks it and reveals that it leads to the legendary Peridea, a completely separate galaxy.

It's a jaw-dropping revelation that turns everyone's heads over on the whole idea that Star Wars exists "in a galaxy far, far away." Ahsoka just confirmed that the series will take place in a new one and a galaxy that we barely know anything about. With that in mind, all the stops have just been pulled out so we'll be in for a truly unexpected adventure with the new Star Wars show.
What is Peridea?
Peridea existed as a distinct galaxy within the cosmos, serving as the exile destination for Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn, who had been banished from his original galaxy. An intriguing connection between these galaxies was revealed through a compass owned by the mysterious Witches of Dathomir. The extragalactic pathway bridges the gap between the two celestial realms and presents truly unexplored territories for Ahsoka and Sabine.
Hopefully, we'll learn more about Peridea (the galaxy, not the moth genus) next week. However, Ahsoka Episode 3 has not yet been given an official title. Nevertheless, the next episode of the Star Wars series will premiere on Disney+ on August 29, 2023.
