Ahsoka Episode 7 Unexpectedly Continues Long-Standing Star Wars Tradition

An important Star Wars character made their return in Ahsoka's penultimate episode!

Goodness gracious me! A delightful Ahsoka Episode 7 surprise cameo continues a cherished Star Wars tradition that solidifies the show's place within the beloved franchise. In addition to that, fans can rest assured that yes, the legendary actor was inside the iconic suit.

In Ahsoka Episode 7, Hera Syndulla is summoned for a New Republic hearing where Senator Xiono takes the opportunity to scold the general for her defiance of orders and her journey to Seatos. Just when it appeared she might face severe repercussions, a certain clumsy droid appeared onscreen, carrying a message from none other than Senator Leia Organa herself. C-3PO, in his signature etiquette-driven manner, informs the Defense Council committee that Leia has graciously decided to "overlook this misstep" as she had personally authorized the mission.

This moment undoubtedly pays tribute to the late Carrie Fisher and her character, who was actively involved in building the New Republic as a Senator. It also solidifies C-3PO's remarkable presence with a dozen canon live-action appearances, courtesy of Anthony Daniels' iconic portrayal. This feat sets C-3PO apart for being the one character who has appeared in numerous Star Wars projects to date.

How many Star Wars projects has C-3PO appeared In?

Threepio is noted for appearing in all of the Star Wars movies except Solo: A Star Wars Story (the film still featured Daniels as a different character). The droid also made an appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi (with young Leia, no less) and the animated shows Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels (hence, Hera's familiarity with the droid). That's a staggering 12 live-action and 2 animated appearances, just one over Artoo.

Interestingly, Threepio and his constant companion R2-D2 did not make an appearance in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. This could confirm that although Ahsoka is part of the MandoVerse, it is still very much a project connected to the Skywalker Saga.
