One of the best things about Ahsoka Episode 7 was seeing more of the awesome interactions between Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger, who has been hiding out with the Noti villagers on Peridea all this time. Not surprisingly, their conversations also revealed more about what we had missed since Ezra's disappearance and it confirms the fate of one important Star Wars Rebels character.
In Ahsoka Episode 7, Sabine and her Howler joined Ezra and the Noti as they relocated to a new (temporary) home. It's clear that Sabine had been helping Ezra catch up on everything he missed since he disappeared in the final season of Star Wars Rebels. For instance, it was confirmed that she told him about the Galactic Empire and Emperor Palpatine's questionable death. Ezra also found that Hera Syndulla had been commanding a fleet while Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios had been training recruits.
It's not exactly something new considering that we know Zeb joined the New Republic Defense Fleet in The Mandalorian Season 3. He even had an awesome interaction with Captain Carson Teva which set up the Lasat's role in the New Republic. Since it has been confirmed that Ahsoka takes place after the events of the third season, it's pretty clear that Zeb has been training recruits all this time to make sure they are prepared for anything that the Imperial Remnant is planning.
Who is Zeb in the Star Wars Universe?
Garazeb Orrelio is commonly referred to as Zeb by his friends. He served as a crew member of the Ghost along with Sabine, Ezra, Hera Syndulla, and Kanan Jarrus. Before becoming a member of the Spectres rebel cell, Orrelios held the rank of Captain in the Lasan Honor Guard and received training in bo-rifle combat. He was one of the rare Lasat survivors which led to his intense animosity towards the Empire. Zeb initially disliked Ezra but they eventually became friends and close allies in Rebels.
But will we ever see Zeb in the first season of Ahsoka? For now, fans are hoping that Ezra's return from Peridea will be important enough for the Lasat to take a break from training to see an old friend. Hopefully, this will happen in the final episode of the Star Wars series next week.
Ahsoka Episode 8 will serve as the final episode of the Star Wars show's first season. The finale has not yet been given an official title. However, it is already set to premiere on Disney+ on October 3, 2023.
